Laparoscopy

Laparoscopy is a surgery that uses a thin, lighted tube put through a cut (incision) in the belly to look at the abdominal organs or the female pelvic organs. Laparoscopy is used to do surgeries on Hernia, Appendix, Gall bladder and also Laparoscopy is used to find problems such as cysts, adhesions, fibroids, and infection. Tissue samples can be taken for biopsy through the tube (laparoscope).

Appendix :


The appendix is a pouch-like structure attached at the start of the large intestine. When infection occurs pain in abdomen start near the belly button and moves towards the lower right side of the abdomen. It will give symptoms of pain, vomiting, loss of appetite and fever. It needs antibiotics and surgery within 24 hours as once its rupture pus will spread into abdomen.

Gall bladder :


The gall bladder is a pouch-like structure lies underneath the Liver in the upper abdomen- tummy. It comes from the main bile duct and is a reservoir which stores bile. Stones in the Gall bladder occurs from the bile and they are mainly cholesterol material or fatty material which hardens, sometimes it contains bile or calcium pigments. Gall stones or infection in the Gall bladder gives upper abdominal pain, fever, vomiting, and fullness of the abdomen. It is more common in a female mainly young and obese female with reproductive age. When symptoms occur one needs to get gall bladder removed, either by open or Laparoscopy- keyhole surgery.
